Day 15 — Create a Weebly Site
Weebly is a popular service to create web site easily. The interface is easy to use. It doesn’t require any additional software installed on your computer. As long as you can point and click, you can use Weebly.
You can create a free web site and blog using Weebly, but unless you upgrade to Professional, there is no way you can remove the promotion link in the footer.
In Thirty Day Challange, you are going to use Weebly to create a simple web site consisting of a few articles. The intention is to link back to your web site or blog, i.e. to boost its authority and hopefully make it rank better in search engine, especially Google.
Again, it is very important that instead of building a site just for the sake of having one, you should create really useful information. Some people are still going to frown upon creating a web property just to link back to your own blog, no matter how good your content is.
Personally, I do think that you can link back to your blog as long as the blog provide supplementary information to that is given on your Weebly site. Linking to other resources online is also a good idea. Remember that your point is to help your audience and build your credibility instead of merely self promotion.
This topic has caused controversies for as long as I can remember. Some people just don’t like the idea of commercialization of the Web. Although e-commerce is here to stay, winners are people who supply solid information and product to their customers.
If your intention is to help, in many cases, you can create one really good piece in Squidoo or Hubpages and get attention of people in the niche. Social media traffic and linkbacks will come naturally because of this.
That may happen only in an ideal world, but still whenever you create Web content, keep in mind that you are leaving your online foot print. Create useful resources for your readers, and they will follow you.
